Newly promoted Premier League side Cardiff City is preparing an official bid for Feyenoord’s midfielder Lex Immers according to Voetbal Primeur.

Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is working hard to bolster his squad after securing promotion from the Championship, but Feyenoord have no intention of allowing Immers to leave.

The Eredivisie side’s technical director Martin van Geel previously said that the 27-year-old is not for sale, but it seems that Cardiff are not going to give up on Immers easily.

Van Geel was quoted as saying, ”Lex is basically not for sale. He is crucial to our style of play."

Immers was indeed in superb form for Feyenoord last season and was an integral part of the Rotterdam outfit.

The midfielder, who spent five years with another Eredivisie club, ADO Den Haag, signed for Feyenoord last term and has a contract with the club until the summer of 2016.

Immers appeared in 37 matches for Feyenoord last year and had 15 goals to his name.
