New Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has been hailed as "super motivated" towards the Bavarians’ cause by star man Franck Ribery, following their first training session of pre-season.

Yesterday saw 10,000 fans turn up to watch the former Barcelona boss showcase his training methods, which he will hope to use to good effect during his three-year contract.

And Ribery, whose assist for Arjen Robben’s goal had secured the Champions League crown against Borussia Dortmund, is already convinced of Guardiola’s commitment.

The Frenchman himself chipped in with 10 goals and 15 assists in Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga-winning cause, and feels happy that Guardiola has taken the time to understand the players.

Despite the whole squad not being available yesterday, Ribery has seen enough in Guardiola, and was quoted as saying by L’Equipe: "Guardiola is super motivated.

"He wants to invest 1000%. He already speaks good German. Before training, he gave a very positive speech."

Indeed, Guardiola’s attempts to learn the language were well on display at his first press conference on Monday, and he showed off his skills further by leading the training in German.

The overall gestures from Guardiola have been applauded by experts outside of the club, and Ribery has now joined the chorus of voices hailing his man-management.

"He asked me what position I prefer to play and if I could possibly be aligned as a number 10", Ribery added. "I replied that I could move around on the attacking side of things. He has lots of ideas."

On the other side of the world, Dante was helping hosts Brazil secure their place in the Confederations Cup final with a 2-1 win against Uruguay but managed to find time to watch Guardiola’s press conference.

And following their win, the defender was impressed by his new club boss, saying: "Outstanding! I think he has studied German intensively.

"I think he’s got the right mood for the job. I’m sure that we will manage to prepare really well and will have a successful season."
