Barcelona forward Cristian Tello has agreed to raise his €10m buy-out clause, according to Spanish daily Marca.

The Catalan giants had met with the player’s agent, bringing a proposal to increase the termination clause of his client, amid interest from several clubs.



The 2012/13 Spanish league champions are prepared to increase the salary of the highly-rated Spanish forward as part of the agreeement.

Tello, 21, joined the Catalan giants in 2002. Following a youth stint with Espanyol, he returned to the club and signed for the B side in the summer of 2010.

He extended his contract with Barcelona in December last year, and his present contract runs until June 2016.

Tello was part of Spain’s Under-21 side at the recent European Under-21 Championship in Israel under head coach Julen Lopetegui. La Roja became the eventual winners following a win against Italy Under-21s in the final.

The player clocked up 34 appearances under club head coach Tito Vilanova last season, picking up eight goals and providing six assists.

He has been linked with English Premier League giants Liverpool, as well as German giants Borussia Dortmund.
