Wigan Athletic have sold striker Mauro Boselli to Mexican outfit Club Leon for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old joined the Latics in the summer of 2010, with the English side splashing out around £6m to snap him up from Argentine side Estudiantes.

Boselli struggled to adapt to the English game however and was loaned out to Genoa just six months later. Two further loan spells followed for the striker, at former club Estudiantes and Palermo, respectively.

Now the Argentine has sealed a permanent switch away from the DW Stadium.

Boselli becomes the only Argentine at Club Leon, although the South American connection is strong, with three Colombians and two Uruguayans in the squad.
