Veteran Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic will not be making a move to Italy with AC Milan any time soon, says his agent Silvano Martina, adding that such rumours are nothing more than "hot air".

Vidic, who captains the Old Trafford outfit, made a total 23 appearances for his club last season, missing a considerable chunk of games during the first half of the 2012/13 campaign due to a recurrence of his knee injury.

Despite being injury prone, the Premier League champions still see the influential Serbian defender as key player among their ranks and are thought to be unwilling to part ways with the player unless the offer is highly significant.

Of course, the club would not be receiving any high offers soon, at least from Milan, according to the Serbian’s agent, who told Fantagazetta: "We are talking with no one [for Vidic’s transfer]. This is all bar talk.

"This is the first time I heard the news [of Milan’s interest in Vidic] and I do not know where it came from", Martina added.

The agent went on to explain Vidic’s happiness with his current club, in part due to the stature being afforded him. "We’re talking about the captain of Manchester United here, not just any player whatsoever.

"Vidic has no problems with at United, all the talk is hot air", Martina concluded.

Vidic has a contract with the 20-time English champions until the end of next season.
