Brazil midfielder Paulinho has explained he is keen to move to Tottenham Hotspur after the Confederations Cup, being further convinced by the fact the club have managed to hold onto boss Andre Villas-Boas and star player Gareth Bale so far this summer.

Spurs have activated Paulinho’s €20m release clause at Corinthians and, despite some interest from Real Madrid, the player is determined to head to White Hart Lane to fulfil his Premier League dream.

Indeed, Paulinho is planning to make the move as quickly as possible after the tournament has ended.

He was quoted as saying by Voetbal Primeur: "It is important that my focus is on winning the tournament, but then I will go as soon as possible to Tottenham.

"It is a dream to play for such a big club."

And Paulinho’s opinion of Spurs as a big club has been further bolstered by their ability to keep hold of their key men.

"They have proven [their ambition] already this summer.

"There was interest in their coach and best player, but both remain.

"That says enough for me."

Spurs will consider themselves as having pulled off a coup by taking Paulinho, rated as one of the finest midfielders in Brazil at present, to England.

The Corinthians man was chased by Inter in January and has also attracted interest from a number of other sides.
