AC Milan could be preparing to sell Robinho to his former club Santos in order to finance their purchase of CSKA Moscow star Keisuke Honda, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport.
Milan have generally been understood to be looking at a few departures to finance their own summer transfers, and with Robinho long linked with a move back to Brazil, that possibility is getting nearer.
The Rossoneri have been eyeing Honda for quite a while now, with the player also targeted by Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
CSKA Moscow general director Roman Babaev had recently refuted suggestions that Milan had enquired about the Japan international, despite admitting to a meeting held between the two clubs.

Meanwhile, it is expected that Robinho’s sale to Santos could fetch up to €8m for Milan, who only then will consider a more concerted approach for Honda.
Honda has spent nearly three-and-a-half years in the Russian capital since moving from Dutch side VVV-Venlo, and they have proved very profitable for the 27-year-old.
He has been impressing on the global stage, most notably at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and continued that trend at the recent Confederations Cup in Brazil.
He helped CSKA Moscow win the Russian Premier League last season thanks to his seven goals in 23 games, which have also brought him suitors from Everton and Fiorentina.
