Feyenoord will be looking to strengthen their midfield ranks by making a loan move for Arsenal youngster Ryo Miyaichi, according to Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has predicted a bright future for the Japan international, who is currently with the squad on their pre-season tour of Asia.

However, Miyaichi has struggled at times, having spent last season on loan at Wigan but managing just seven first team appearances owing to injury.

He has, however, played for Feyenoord before, during a loan spell in 2011 where he turned out on 12 occasions, and coach Ronald Koeman is understood to be keen for the player to renew his Dutch loyalties.

Miyaichi himself wants to break into the Arsenal team on a regular basis, having made just two appearances so far, and has targeted the pre-season tour as a chance to shine.

The 20-year-old has played eight times for Arsenal’s Under-21 side, while a further loan spell at Bolton saw him gain Premier League experience when the Trotters played in the top flight in 2011/12.

His loan stint with Feyenoord had also attracted attention from other Eredivisie clubs, with Ajax considering a temporary move for him in July last year.
