New Liverpool signing Kolo Toure has explained that he is looking ahead to the challenge of playing with the Merseyside giants, and has insisted he will be giving his total dedication to the team.
The Reds completed the transfer of the former Arsenal and Manchester City centre-back yesterday, the Ivorian was snapped up on a free transfer, following the expiry of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers signed the player in order to boost his side’s defence, following the retirement of veteran defensive rock Jamie Carragher at the end of last season. Toure, for his part, knows that he will face stiff competition from the other centre-backs to feature regularly, but he is looking forward to that challenge.
"When I arrived at Arsenal nobody knew about me. I had to make my name, which was not easy because I was part of one of the best squads of players with Patrick Vieira, Sol Campbell and Martin Keown", the 32-year-old told his new club’s official site.
