Manchester City and Chelsea are doing battle for Sporting Lisbon star Bruma, and the 18-year-old has confirmed he is looking to "grow as a player" even if he remains non-committal on a move away.

The winger, dubbed the "new Cristiano Ronaldo" had been helping Portugal’s Under-20 side at the recent World Cup in Turkey, but the team were knocked out in the Round of 16 clash by Ghana last night.

While Chelsea have already seen a €15m bid rejected by Sporting Lisbon, who are resigned to losing him this summer, Bruma insists he will only think of his future after talks with his agent.

His contract at Sporting Lisbon runs out next summer, and he told Portuguese broadcasting outlet Antena 1: "I know nothing. As of now, I am only looking at getting back to Lisbon.

"I am keeping calm about this. I want to grow as a player, but I’ll speak to my agent and see what he has to say."

Bruma has spent all his professional career with Sporting Lisbon – once the home of Ronaldo – and he has already made a name for himself there

He began the 2012/13 season with Sporting Lisbon’s reserve side, but graduated in February this year, going on to play 13 times for the seniors.

His talents came to the fore in Turkey this summer, where he scored five goals in three games in the group stage at the Under-20 World Cup.
