Manchester United manager David Moyes is continuing the trend of raiding Everton for his coaching staff at Old Trafford, as Phil Neville’s recruitment as a coach was confirmed today.
Neville, who played under Moyes at Everton from 2005 onwards until his retirement this summer, becomes the fourth arrival from Merseyside since the change of management at Manchester United.
Steve Round, Chris Woods and Jimmy Lumsden have all followed Moyes to Manchester United, whilst today also saw the news that Ryan Giggs would take on the role of player-coach from next season.
And former Manchester United player Neville was delighted to return to the club he served as a player between 1995 and 2005, alongside his brother Gary.

"When David called to give me this opportunity, I couldn’t resist", Phil Neville said. "I gave my all when I played for Everton but it is no secret that [Manchester United] is in my heart.
"When I retired from football, I knew that I wanted to continue in the game. It’s something that I have been preparing for over the last few years.
"I’ve really enjoyed working with David and his staff as a player and I think that, together with Ryan, we can make a real contribution to Manchester United."
Giggs and Phil Neville’s appointment has already received the blessing from Gary, who wrote on Twitter: "Great news that Phil and Giggsy have joined United coaching staff. Delighted for them. They deserve it."
And new manager Moyes was similarly pleased to have recruited his former Toffees captain, adding: "I have known and worked with Philip for eight years and, in that time, I have come to know his dedication, ability to lead and appetite for hard work.
"He understands the club very well and I think his addition to the coaching staff will be a valuable one."
