Francis Coquelin is set for yet another loan spell away from Arsenal, with Bundesliga side SC Freiburg snapping him up on a year’s deal.
The 22-year-old spent temporary time at FC Lorient in France during the 2010/11 season, after graduating to Arsenal’s senior squad in 2009.
He is marked as one for the future by Arsene Wenger, and as a result has been sent out to Germany, even as Schalke were keen on a permanent buy this summer.
A statement on the Gunners’ official site read: "Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin will be spending the 2013/2014 season on loan with Bundesliga side SC Freiburg.

"Having signed a new contract with the club in 2012, Coquelin will look to gain further experience and build up his playing time as he joins Christian Streich’s Freiburg side.
"Everyone at Arsenal wishes Francis success for his time in Germany."
It was at Arsenal that Coquelin made his senior club debut, having moved to England from the youth side at Stade Laval, aged just 17, in 2008.
He has been gaining steady progress and caught the eye of other clubs when he helped Arsenal lift the FA Youth Cup title in 2009.
In total, he has made 43 appearances for Arsenal, with his ability to operate as a flank defender also key to his development.
