Defending Italian champions Juventus are believed to be devising a plan to offload their Montenegrin striker Mirko Vucinic, with Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg willing to answer the Bianconeri’s call.

Vucinic, 29, has become surplus to requirements in Antonio Conte’s first team plans for the upcoming 2013/14 season following the arrival of Fernando Llorente from Athletic Bilbao and Carlos Tevez from Manchester City.

Of course, the Montenegrin centre-forward is not a total outcast, with a host of top clubs across Europe willing to splash the cash to secure Vucinic’s signature.

True enough, London giants Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be pondering a swoop for the striker, while Manchester United are thought preparing a four-man swap to secure Vucinic, along with veteran midfielder Claudio Marchisio.

But it is Russian Premier League heavyweights Zenit who are credited with being in pole position to secure the services of Vucinic.

According to Tutto Mercato, the Russian side have already made preliminary enquiries for the striker, although a formal discussion between the two clubs is yet to be established.

The development will come in line with what Zenit boss Luciano Spaletti revealed yesterday, speaking of his plan to reel in the Montenegrin striker to Russia.

Vucinic’s contract with the Turin giants expires in 2015.
