Lazio are bracing themselves for an offer from Arsenal for Brazilian midfielder Hernanes in the January transfer window.

A number of sides have been alerted to the lack of progress made on a contract renewal for the 28-year-old, with Lazio struggling to extend Hernanes' current deal, which runs until 2015.

Paris Saint-Germain are firm admirers of the Sao Paulo youth product, while Real Madrid have shown interest in the schemer in the past.

But it is Arsenal, who also hunted Hernanes over the summer, who are set to push for his signature in January, with Lazio braced for a tempting proposal from the Gunners.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is likely to be active in the January window, as he bids to give his side a mid-season talent injection.

Lazio scooped Hernanes up from Sao Paulo in 2010, paying the Brazilian outfit €11.1m to secure his services.

The 28-year-old made 34 appearances in Serie A for Lazio last term, finding the back of the net an impressive eleven times along with providing five assists.

Hernanes also collected the Coppa Italia with Lazio last season.
