England winger Andros Townsend has admitted that his country’s upcoming friendly matches against Chile and Germany will not be easy.

The Three Lions will take on Chile at Wembley Stadium on Friday before welcoming Germany to the ground four days later.

And Townsend insisted that the South American nation will provide a stern test for his side and took special note of their winger Alexis Sanchez, who has scored seven goals in nine La Liga appearances for Barcelona in the current season.

“Chile have got some fantastic players, none more so than Alexis Sanchez, so it’s not going to be an easy game and a great occasion”, he told the FA’s official site.

“I think they are going to have no fear and look to win the game, so it should be a good open encounter that I’m looking forward to should I be given the chance on the field.”

The Tottenham Hotspur player also believes that it will be a good test for England to play a top-notch side in the form of Germany in the run up to the 2014 World Cup.

“Germany speak for them themselves. I think it’s a great opportunity for us to test ourselves against the best so early on going into next summer”, he added.

“We can see where we are, see what we’ve got to work on and see how far we’ve got to go to be one of the top nations.”
