Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has insisted that his side are confident about scoring more goals in the Premier League.

Spurs are currently seventh in the league table with 20 points from 11 matches, just five points behind first-placed Arsenal.

But the White Hart Lane outfit have managed to find the back of the net a mere nine times in the current Premier League campaign.

However, Friedel is certain that his side will start scoring goals more frequently, especially with the number of quality players in their ranks.

“You see the quality in training on a daily basis, there is no lack of confidence and it will come good because we have so many quality players”, the custodian told his club’s official site.

Friedel also praised the performance of his Newcastle United counterpart Tim Krul, who produced a superb display between the sticks in the Magpies' 1-0 win over Spurs on Sunday.

“Krul was outstanding”, he added.

“In the second half it was chance after chance after chance.”

The 42-year-old, who has a further year left on his current deal with Tottenham, has made 63 appearances in all competitions for the club.
