Barcelona have begun talks with Gerard Pique about a possible renewal to his contract, the defender has revealed.

Pique, who moved back to his boyhood club after being contracted for four years with Manchester United, will see his current deal run out in 2015.

The 26-year-old is enjoying his football despite having seen two managerial changes, and there is enough confidence about staying on with Barcelona.

When asked if Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta had been in touch about a renewal, Pique told Mundo Deportivo: "We have started, yes.

"Everything is very well with the club. Everyone knows that I am a Barcelonista.

"I tried having an adventure abroad with Manchester, and I can say that there is no place like home.

"I spent four years away, but here I have family and close friends every day."
