Manchester United second-choice goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is using the international break for more than mere relaxation, as he embarks on a training spell at former club Odense Boldklub.

Lindegaard has made just the one appearance for the Reds this season, in a League Cup clash against Norwich City, as David de Gea continues his fine form from the previous campaign.

For now, Lindegaard is keen to keep his fitness levels on the up, given that he is not part of tomorrow's squad to face Norway.

He told tv2.dk: "I am in Denmark to train, and have been allowed to train along with OB. I'm glad [for this]."

Lindegaard is an Odense academy product and spent six years contracted as a senior player before moving to Aalesunds FK in Norway in 2009.

He was signed on by Manchester United in January 2011, but has made just 18 Premier League appearances so far.

Lindegaard was linked with a move to West Ham last season, as the Dane admitted the situation at Manchester United was not ideal for him.

"I’m not an idiot", Lindegaard said in April. "I know for a fact that my situation is not the ultimate dream scenario.

"But I do my very best every day to keep myself as sharp as possible both for myself and for the team."
