France custodian Hugo Lloris has admitted that his nation’s crucial World Cup qualification playoff against Ukraine will be tough.

Les Bleus went into the World Cup playoff after finishing second in Group I with 17 points from eight matches, just three points behind winners Spain.

Didier Deschamps’ side will now lock horns with Ukraine in away and home fixtures on 15th and 19th November respectively, in view of booking a spot in next year’s World Cup in Brazil.

And Lloris stated that it is important for France to qualify for the World Cup, but acknowledged that the double header against Ukraine will not be easy.

However, the goalkeeper believes his side have the desired quality to go through to next summer’s football carnival in the South American nation.

“It’s important for the whole country to get qualification for the next World Cup”, Lloris explained to his club’s official site.

“We’re going to have two tough games against a good team and it’s never easy because everybody will be under pressure.

“It’s a very good test for everybody but the main thing is to get the qualification.

“All the players will be at 100 per cent for the country and we hope to do a good job – the best possible.

“We know that they should be hard games but we have the quality to make the grade.”
