England have suffered a blow with defender Phil Jones set to miss Tuesday's friendly against Germany.

The Manchester United defender-cum-midfielder suffered a groin injury in Friday night's 2-0 loss at Wembley against Chile.

That means the 21-year-old, who was withdrawn just before the hour mark at Wembley, will not play against Germany in what has become a vital friendly for England as they seek to bounce back.

Jones had a scan on the injury earlier today and as a result has returned to Manchester United.
