Spanish winger Jose Callejon is happy to have joined Napoli in Serie A, but admits it "hurt" to leave Real Madrid in the summer.

Callejon was one of a wave of new arrivals brought to Napoli by the club's new coach Rafael Benitez, who used his Spanish connections to good effect, also tempting Raul Albiol and Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid.

Callejon is happy he did, with the winger thoroughly enjoying life at the Italian side.

He explained via Futbolita: "At first it did hurt to leave Real Madrid, but I left because I wanted more playing time and I wanted to be important to a team.
