In-demand midfielder Blaise Matuidi has laid his cards on the table, explaining he would rather remain at Paris Saint-Germain all things being equal.

Matuidi's contract at the Parc des Princes expires next summer and he has yet to pen an extension, something which has alerted a number of clubs to his potential availability, including Chelsea, Roma and Manchester City.

However, the defensively-minded midfielder is not packing his bags in the French capital just yet and has encouraged PSG to work hard to keep him at the club.

Matuidi told L'Equipe: "I am comfortable at PSG and my desire is to stay.

The 26-year-old has clocked up 13 appearances in Ligue 1 for PSG so far this season, while he has also been selected in all the club's four Champions League games to date, ample proof of his importance.

Matuidi was snaffled up from Saint-Etienne in 2011.
