France striker Olivier Giroud has called for the country's public to support the side on Tuesday evening as they seek to overturn a 2-0 deficit against the Ukraine to qualify for next summer's World Cup.

Les Bleus went down to a damaging defeat away in Kyiv on Friday evening which leaves their hopes of reaching Brazil hanging by a thread.

Giroud and company however still believe they can upset the odds and grab the required result.

But solid support and encouragement will be needed, along with belief, feels the Arsenal striker.

"We must push ahead after this defeat and we should not be beaten.

"We need to believe on Tuesday. If this was not the case, we would not return to play this game."
