Celtic manager Neil Lennon has praised the progress of 19-year-old Darnell Fisher at the club, with the Scottish champions' boss believing the talent is showing "great maturity".

The English defender-cum-midfielder made his senior Celtic debut last month against Hibernian, Lennon turning to Fisher in the full-back slot after Adam Matthews and Mikael Lustig picked up injuries.

Fisher has appeared in three Scottish Premiership matches for Celtic and Lennon is pleased with what he has seen.

"He’s done well", Lennon told Celtic's official site.

"He’s still only three games into his career and I’m very pleased with the contribution he’s making.

"He’s a good athlete who passes the ball well and he’s showing a great maturity for someone so young."

Fisher joined Celtic in the summer of 2011.
