Barcelona's treatment room has yet another entrant after news that Dani Alves will be sidelined for up to 10 days with a hamstring injury.

Barcelona are currently without Lionel Messi, Victor Valdes, Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas at the end of the international break.

Alves returned from his Brazil duty – albeit being unused in both their friendlies – with the niggle, and will miss the next two games including a Champions League clash against Ajax.

"Tests conducted on Thursday morning confirmed that Dani Alves has a small hamstring injury in the soleus [muscle] of the right leg", a club statement read.

Alves has made 11 appearances in La Liga this season – with a goal to boot – and had played all four of Barcelona's Champions League games so far.

Valdes was also confirmed earlier today as having been sidelined until the new year, with a hamstring injury picked up whilst playing for Spain on Tuesday.
