Mamadou Sakho became "a soothsayer" for France prior to World Cup qualification after correctly predicting his goalscoring efforts at the Stade de France.
Sakho has been credited with two of France's goals, despite the second being a slight contender for own-goal, as Les Blues secured their dramatic qualification.
With jobs and futures hanging in the balance, the two-goal deficit had most France players nervous prior to the game, but not Sakho.
"The day before, at the table, I gave [Newcastle United’s] Moussa Sissoko a nudge and said, 'You'll see, I'll score tomorrow'", Liverpool defender Sakho told L'Equipe.

"He chuckled and replied: 'You? You've never scored a goal!'. I smiled and insisted: 'You will see'.
"Well, I did not think twice about it either but just before kick-off, Moussa grabbed me by the arm and said: 'Do you remember what you told me yesterday?'
"I told him that I remembered. And at the end of the match, he came to me and shouted: 'But you're a soothsayer, you!'."
Karim Benzema had scored France's second goal between Sakho's efforts either side of the break.
