Lazio are eyeing up a move to take John Guidetti from Manchester City in January, preferably on loan.

Guidetti has insisted that his situation at the Citizens is far from ideal and he is looking for a solution in January.

The Sweden striker is wanted by Feyenoord, the club he spent a season on loan with in 2011/12 and whose fans have launched a crowd-sourcing initiative to fund the move, much to the Rotterdam side's displeasure.

But according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Lazio are preparing to ride to Guidetti's rescue.

The Rome-based outfit would ideally like to take Guidetti on loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the season and assess how he copes with life in Serie A.

There are sure to be other clubs taking a keen interest in developments surrounding the striker however, while Manchester City have been mooted as slapping a €5m price tag on his head.
