Manchester United striker Federico Macheda has rejoined Championship side Doncaster Rovers on loan until 31st December.

The Italian was previously at the Yorkshire club on loan in September, but a hamstring injury forced his return to parent club Manchester United.

Doncaster had expressed hopes of luring the 22-year-old back once his injury cleared up and that has now been made a reality, leaving manager Paul Dickov pleased.

He told his club's official site: "I am delighted I have been able to convince Kiko to re-join us as it will add to our attacking options.

"I would like to thank Manchester United and Kiko for choosing to come back here.

"I know that he was happy here and knows the set up well. His club and we were happy about his performances in the five games he appeared in, with a tally of three goals.

"I’m pleased the owners have allowed me to bolster our attack by bringing a quality proven striker into the squad."
