Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has labelled Luis Suarez "a machine" after the Uruguayan slotted home a stunning free-kick in the Reds' 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday.

Suarez has been in sublime form since returning from a ten-match ban and took his total number of Premier League goals this season to nine with the strike.

Gerrard has been thrilled by Suarez's continued good form and explained that the Uruguayan will not be celebrating his free-kick for long, but instead thinking about a missed header, such is his drive to continue improving.

"As for Luis, he's a machine. He's right up there with the best in the world", Gerrard told his club's official site.

"Luis is the type of player who won't be thinking about his free-kick after the game, he'll be thinking about the header he missed. That's why he's so good.

"He'll be desperate to get back out and make amends for that.

"That's what the best players do. They don't get big-headed over the good things they do but analyse the mistakes, where it went wrong and how they can improve."
