Schalke have ruled out signing a new striker in the January transfer window despite Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's continuing injury layoff.
Huntelaar has been ruled out until at least March, following initial hopes that he may be ready to return to action in January.
But Schalke will not be looking to sign a replacement in January, sporting director Horst Heldt has insisted.
"We have a good squad that we trust", he told Kicker.

"Buying a striker in the January transfer window is definitely not in our thoughts", Heldt added.
Schalke have managed to score 26 goals in 13 games in the Bundesliga so far this season.
Indeed, the Ruhr giants had no issue scoring goals at the weekend, drawing 3-3 away at Eintracht Frankfurt.
