Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has marked out Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling as a danger man when the the Red Devils take on the German outfit in the Champions League tomorrow evening.

Ferdinand and company beat Leverkusen 4-2 at Old Trafford in September and know that victory at the BayArena would guarantee qualification to the Round of 16.

But the defender insists Manchester United are not taking that for granted and has noted the threat posed by Kiessling, who scored his 12th goal of the season at the weekend as Leverkusen beat Hertha Berlin.

Ferdinand said via his club's official site: "He has good movement and we watched a lot of videos on him before [the game at Old Trafford] so we knew a lot of the dangers he posed.

"He's scored a lot of goals over in Germany in the past few seasons so we know we have to be on our toes to make sure he doesn't get many chances because he's definitely capable of finishing them."

And the Manchester United defender also stressed the importance of learning about opponents before facing them.

"Video analysis is a big part of preparation before every Champions League game", he said.

"If you want to get an insight into how your opponents are going to play then you have to watch videos because we don’t see them every week."
