Ajax coach Frank de Boer has admitted it would be a "dream" to coach Barcelona in the future, but for now stressed he remains focused on the Dutch champions.

De Boer has been an overwhelming success at Ajax, steering the club to the last three Eredivisie titles and seeing his stock rise as a result.

 


And last night De Boer's Ajax defeated Barcelona 2-1 in a Champions League clash, only boosting him in the eyes of his former club.

De Boer, who turned out for Barcelona between 1999 and 2003, was asked by Catalan daily Sport about potentially taking charge at the Camp Nou.

The 43-year-old replied: "I have a lot to learn, but you never know.

"It would be a dream, but for now I just think about Ajax."

De Boer was part of the Barcelona squad which won the 1998/99 La Liga title, his only major trophy in Spanish football.
