Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will play no part in the side's La Liga clash against Real Valladolid tomorrow.

Ronaldo has picked up a muscle injury, which also kept him out of Real Madrid's midweek 4-1 Champions League win over Galatasaray.

And Ancelotti does not want to rush the FIFA Ballon d'Or nominee back to action too soon.

"It's not okay for him at the weekend. He's not trained very much and we're not going to take any chances", Ancelotti explained to reporters.

Now Ronaldo's expected return is instead mid-December, with FC Copenhagen hosting Los Blancos on the 10th, while Osasuna are set to provide the opposition on 14th.

"We're focusing on mid-December", said Ancelotti.

Real Madrid currently sit third in La Liga, with 34 points from 14 games.
