Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised Mesut Ozil as being able to make the killer pass, with the Germany international increasingly having a key effect on the Gunners' play.

Wenger broke his club's transfer record in the summer when splashing out £42m to sign Ozil from Real Madrid. And the midfielder has not disappointed, dictating Arsenal's attacking play and proving pivotal in a number of games.

Indeed, Wenger feels Ozil is an expert when it comes to making the killer pass, that being the pass which creates a shooting opportunity for a team-mate.

The French tactician told his club's official site: "When it comes to key passes he is the man.

"When he has the ball I [know as a player I can] make the run. It's what you call understanding, you understand that there are situations where he will see you and where he'll deliver the perfect weight of the pass.

"The [Mathieu] Flamini goal [at Cardiff at the weekend] is a perfect example of that.

"It's a combination of vision and weight of the pass. Of course it's not a coincidence that in every league he plays, he has the most assists because he has those two qualities."
