Napoli have switched their sights to Marseille centre-back Nicolas N'Koulou as they look to secure another defender in the upcoming transfer window.

The Serie A outfit have been linked with a whole host of defenders, including Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen, Liverpool's Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel, and Barcelona's defender-cum-midfielder Javier Mascherano.

But signing any of their identified targets so far has proven difficult, which has, according to French outlet Mercato 365, led to a focus on N'Koulou.

Benitez has been impressed with the Marseille centre-back and Napoli sporting director Ricardo Bigon has added the 23-year-old to the club's wish list.
