Ivan Rakitic will not be drawn into transfer talk just yet according to his agent, even if he is "honoured" to be followed by the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Sevilla midfielder Rakitic had been on the radars at Liverpool this summer though nothing came off it in the end.

He is, this season, deemed a target for clubs in England as well as in Italy, but it remains to be seen if the Sevilla captain will be allowed to leave easily.

For now, the list of suitors seems to be growing, at least according to his brother and agent Dejan Rakitic, who told Tutto Mercato: "There are many clubs interested in Ivan.

"It's too early to say something concrete. My brother still has a year-and-a-half left on his contract.

"Chelsea, Manchester United and Lazio are on him? It's nice that clubs at this level are thinking of him. We are honoured."

Rakitic had been equally flattered the last time an English club had shown an interest, though the end result did not pan out as expected for the Reds.

"I’m very flattered to be linked with such a big club like Liverpool," Rakitic had said. “I have heard that something is happening, but so far there is no concrete offer."
