West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has urged his side to build on their 2-0 win over Swansea City at the weekend.

A Kevin Nolan brace was enough for the Hammers, who drew 0-0 with Chelsea on Wednesday, to bag the full three points at Upton Park.

Allardyce’s side, who have managed to pick up seven points from their last four Premier League outings, are currently 18th in the league table with 22 points from 24 games.

And the manager, who admitted that it is West Ham’s best spell of the current campaign, wants his side to extend the run in view of moving out of the relegation zone.

"Hopefully now we can continue to get better”, Allardyce told his club’s official site.

“We've had four games where we've taken seven points.

"It's our best small spell of the season and we've got to continue that to maintain a position outside of the bottom three."

West Ham are next up against Aston Villa in an away fixture on Saturday, before welcoming Norwich City to Upton Park three days later.
