Incoming Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has revealed he had not agreed with Diego Lopez's choices as Cagliari coach for some time.

Cellino, who is pushing ahead to buy 75 per cent of Leeds, also owns Cagliari and chose to sack Lopez yesterday following the club's 3-1 defeat to Roma at the weekend.

That defeat left Cagliari seven points above the drop zone in Serie A and Cellino has opened up about his decision.

"I did not agree with his choices for a long time, he had little loyalty in making his selections", Cellino told L'Unione Sarda.

The Italian businessman also insisted he has remained ready to sell Cagliari for some time.

"I was ready to go for the sake of Cagliari, I almost sold to the Arabs."

Cagliari are next in action in a vital clash against second-bottom Sassuolo on Saturday.
