West Ham defender Winston Reid insists that his team will look to leave the disappointment of the loss to Liverpool behind them and concentrate on their remaining games to end the season on a high.

The encounter against the league leaders was always going to be tough, but the New Zealand international believes that his team could have done better on the day.

A brace from Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard was enough to secure a 2-1 win for the Reds, handing the Hammers their first loss after two consecutive wins.

"I think we played alright on Sunday, we could have kept the ball better but, at the end of the day, we're playing against the league leaders and unfortunately we lost", Reid told his club's official site.

"We came off a couple of good wins and wanted to continue but we just didn't have enough to get over the line and that's football."

Sam Allardyce's men play Arsenal next Tuesday, a match that the defender believes is going to difficult but refuses to be pessimistic about in any way.

"It is going to be a difficult game as well, but hopefully we'll get a good rest now and get some good training in and prepare ourselves for that game.

"It's just Sunday's result really that's a little bit annoying, but we'll keep moving forward and onto the next one", Reid added.
