Leeds United academy midfielder Lewis Cook has been named in the England Under-17 squad for the European Championship in Malta next month.

The 17-year-old midfielder is a first year scholar in Leeds United’s academy and has represented both the Under-18 and Under-21 teams of the Whites.




Cook is a regular feature for England at youth level and is one of only three players from the Championship teams who have been named in John Peacock’s squad.

Cook has made seven appearances for England at various age group levels.

England are placed in Group A with hosts Malta, Holland and Turkey in the Under-17 European Championship.

Holland will take on Turkey in the first match of Under-17 European Championship on 9th May at the Ta’Qali National Stadium, Attard.
