Leeds United boss Brian McDermott is determined not to read too much into his side's 4-0 win over Birmingham City earlier this season, when the same side come calling later today.

McDermott's men romped past Blues in October last year, a time when they looked sure to be in the playoff mix at the end of the season.

But they have since seen those dreams comprehensively ended by off the pitch turmoil, spilling over into poor performances on the pitch and a plummeting down the Championship table.

Sitting 16th, Leeds have won two of their last three games however. But McDermott believes the side's prior meeting with Birmingham goes out of the window.

"We got wins and clean sheets, back to back, and want two more good performances now", he said via his club's site.

"When you go away you try and keep the fans quiet, and the start is important.

"We played well against Birmingham earlier in the season when we won 4-0. We were solid and scored goals.

"That game’s gone now though. It was a long time ago."
