Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has declared that his side will not shy away from the pressure surrounding the club, ahead of their crucial Premier League game against Hull City on Saturday.

The Villains are currently 16th in the league standings with 35 points from as many games, just three points ahead of the relegation zone.

Paul Lambert’s side have precariously slipped down the table after picking up just a solitary point from their last six outings.

And with just three fixtures remaining in their campaign, Agbonlahor is aware that a win over Hull City will keep Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old, who feels the game against the Tigers could be the biggest game of his life, has called on his side to rise to the occasion and ease the tension around the club.

"We're not going to hide away from it. Every player in the squad knows that it is a massive game”, the forward explained to his club’s official site.

"There is a lot of pressure on the game but we have got experienced players in there and hopefully everyone will rise to the occasion and get the result.

"It could be the biggest game of all of our careers so far because of what is at stake. To keep a club the size of Aston Villa in the Premier League is a massive thing.

"We know we've been up and down and inconsistent as a team but at this stage of the season you've just got to try and get the points on the board. Form goes out of the window now."
