Ronald Koeman was spotted at London’s Heathrow Airport last night as the speculation over him being the next Southampton manager reached a crescendo.

The club are looking for a new manager this summer after Mauricio Pochettino left the Saints to join Tottenham Hotspur last week and Koeman has emerged as the favourite to replace the Argentine.

The 51-year-old left Feyenoord at the end of the season after leading the club to second in the table behind champions Ajax.

The former Holland international’s agent claimed yesterday that Koeman is aware of Southampton’s interest in him and he is interested in taking up a job in England.
