Brazil-born striker Luiz Adriano admits he is interested in taking Ukrainian citizenship and representing the country at international level, if the political situation in the nation stabilises.

The 27-year-old currently turns out for Shakhtar Donetsk, the club he joined in 2007 from Internacional.

Adriano has scooped up six Ukrainian Premier League titles, four Ukrainian Cups, four Ukrainian Super Cups and one UEFA Cup during his time in Donetsk.

He has though failed to earn recognition with Brazil at international level and has just eleven caps for the country's Under-20 team to his name.

The Brazilian is now actively considering representing the Ukraine on the international stage.
