West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce admits he was impressed with the performances of his forwards against Crystal Palace.

The Hammers registered a convincing 3-1 Premier League away win against Palace on Saturday at Selhurst Park.

Goals from Mauro Zarate, Stewart Downing and Carlton Cole gave West Ham their first win of the season, following defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Allardyce was pleased with the performances of his forwards and feels that some of the finishing on Saturday was top notch.

"The quality of our finishing was superb as opening the opposition up is very difficult”, the West Ham manager told the club’s official site.

“You could see that by the quality of goal we had to score to beat them.”

Allardyce also feels that the goals were also of top quality and praised the impact of his new acquisition Zarate.

"The first one from Zarate was a fantastic finish, and a fantastic run and finish for the second from Downing. Crystal Palace couldn't complain."
