QPR boss Harry Redknapp does not believe targets set publicly by the West Ham board in the summer are responsible for the Hammers' positive start to the campaign.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce was told he had to produce a team playing more attacking football at Upton Park this term, as well as finish the season in a top ten spot.
The initial signs have been positive for West Ham, who bolstered their attacking options with the signings of strikers Enner Valencia, Mauro Zarate and Diafra Sakho.
And Redknapp thinks it is shrewd business from Allardyce, rather than a boardroom warning, that is responsible for the turnaround.
"I don't know if it's [the boardroom warning] made the difference for West Ham", Redknapp told a press conference ahead of QPR's clash with the Hammers this weekend.
"They've brought some good players in, a couple of players with pace, they bought [Alex] Song in.
