Adryan was close to making his Leeds United debut against Sheffield Wednesday, boss Darko Milanic has revealed.

The Whites had been reluctant to throw the Brazilian playmaker into action due to a bureaucratic issue. However, that was recently resolved and Milanic included Adryan on the bench for the clash with the Owls at Elland Road.

But the Slovenian tactician opted for other substitutes and Adryan was left to watch proceedings for 90 minutes.

Milanic was close to playing Adryan though.

Asked by the BBC how close Adryan was to playing, Milanic replied: "Close. He was here in my thoughts, I thought about it."

Adryan arrived at Leeds on loan from Flamengo, via Cagliari, who held his loan last season.

The Whites have the right to make the 20-year-old's stay a permanent one for a fee of €3m at the end of the season.
