Young full-back Reece James has signed a new contract with Manchester United to extend his stay with the club.
The 21-year-old impressed on Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the US last summer and was on the bench for the first three Premier League games of the season under Dutchman Louis van Gaal.
The youngster joined Championship side Rotherham United on loan in November to gain valuable first team experience and made eight appearances for Steve Evans’ side before returning to Old Trafford in January.
Though he has made just one first team appearance for the club in the League Cup, James has been a regular feature of Warren Joyce’s Under-21 side and has been rewarded for his performances with a new contract.
With a number of youngsters getting opportunities under Van Gaal, who has vowed to promote youth at Old Trafford, James will be hoping to make his Premier League debut sooner rather than later.
