Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has challenged the club to show they are serious about pushing for promotion to the Premier League, insisting he does not want to be at Elland Road just to make the numbers up.
Redfearn's men ended a run of five consecutive defeats earlier today by winning a Yorkshire derby 2-1 away at Sheffield Wednesday.
Leeds now have just one game left to play this term, at home to Rotherham United, but Redfearn is no nearer to knowing whether he will be in charge of the club next season.
Asked if there have been any talks regarding his future by LUTV, Redfearn replied: "I've just got on with my job. I haven't had any contact with anybody. It's up to the powers that be. They'll sit down and decide what they want to do and I'll have a think about what I want to do."
However, Redfearn has challenged the club's powerbrokers to demonstrate they are prepared to do what it takes to get Leeds promoted, warning he will not remain at the club if he is not given the tools to be a success.

"But what I don't want to do is to be at Leeds United and not be able to be successful. I want to be successful at Leeds United. I'm not here to make the numbers up, I want to take this club up.
"Now we've got to be serious about it. If we're serious about being promoted and we put our heads together and we do it then we've got a great chance. The supporters that have turned up, they want it, the players want it too, but need a bit of help to get to the top end of it.
"The building blocks are in place", Redfearn added.
As per the terms of Redfearn's current contract with Leeds, the club must inform him if they wish to extend his deal before the clash against Rotherham.
