AC Milan have continued to maintain contact with Marouane Fellaini’s agent as they look to snap up the Manchester United midfielder in the summer.

The Rossoneri were keen to take the Belgian to Milan during the January transfer window, but Louis van Gaal was not ready to lose a player who has continued to play an important part in his team this season.

However, with rumours of Jose Mourinho’s impending arrival at Old Trafford for next season there is speculation that Fellaini’s time could be up if the Portuguese takes over from Van Gaal in the summer.

And AC Milan are not ready to miss the bus this time, as according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, the club are keen to agree terms with the player before they try to reach a agreement over a fee with Manchester United.

There is a suggestion that the club have continued to talk with the player’s representatives over a move to AC Milan for Fellaini in the summer and the Rossoneri are interested in snapping him up at the end of the season.

However, the financial figures could be a problem as Fellaini would command a salary package of around €4m per season and AC Milan might have to fork out a fee in the region of €15m to convince Manchester United to sell the player.

Fellaini joined Manchester United from Everton in 2013 and has a contract until 2018 with the club.
